PART 1: DETERMINATION

Frisk and Sans walked down the stone path that laced the palace gardens, the flowers from the trees shining in the morning light. Sans was selected as Frisk’s bodyguard due to his powerful attack and their relationship. Frisk was going to be the next queen, and as the next heir… she was prone to assassinations. The day Sans swore his oath to protect her with his life, was the day Frisk admitted her feelings toward him.

“So princess, what shall we do today?” Sans asked, hands in his jacket pockets. He looked like a real solider now, he looked like a Royal Guard.

“Well I have to join mom at a meeting with some of the scouting patrols, then I have to visit father, then I have to check up on Asriel…” Toriel, the queen, has been running the kingdom basically by herself. Since King Asgore fell ill she has taken all responsibility for the kingdom. Frisk tried to help any way she could, but Toriel insisted that she watch over her little brother, Asriel, and tend to her father.

“How is your father doing?” Sans put an arm around Frisk’s shoulders, he knew she was upset about Asgore falling ill and wanted to help any way he could… but Frisk never let her feelings out unless she was alone.

“He isn’t improving… we believe the water supply was tainted somehow… maybe it was the humans’ pollution? Alphys and Mettaton are currently working on discovering the cause and are working on a cure for my father…” Frisk looked up at the trees, a gentle breeze swaying the flowers and branches.

“So anyway, how is Papyrus? As a member of the Royal Guard he must be thrilled, and to be working beside Undyne, it is a great honor.” Frisk was trying to brighten the mood with playful banter. Sans smiled understanding why she would want to change the subject.

“Yeah he is stoked, I mean, he’s living his dream. Why wouldn’t he be happy? He’s keeping the peace in the kingdom, protecting the borders, and of course he’s still together with Mettaton.” Sans and Frisk laughed together, happily.

“Princess!” Dogamy and Dogressa ran over to Frisk and Sans. The expressions they wore… were dejected.

“Dogamy, Dogressa, what has happened?!” Frisk prepared herself for the worst, Sans… just waited.

“It… is your father… he… he…” Dogamy and Dogressa couldn’t say it, their tears said it all. Without any hesitation Frisk ran through the garden, through the castle and to her father’s bed side. Toriel was there already and holding little Asriel in her arms.

“Mother…” Frisk choked on her words. Toriel pulled her close and hugged her tightly, Asgore’s dust scattered over the bed where he once was.

The funeral was the saddest day in the history of the kingdom. Everyone was there, even some representatives from their human allies were there to pay their respects. Frisk was with her mother and brother the whole time, she had assumed that Sans would be with her or with Papyrus… but he was nowhere to be found.

“I don’t know what we will do now dear…” Toriel had said to Frisk later in the throne room, the grey sky shielding all light from the sun.

“What do you mean mother?” Frisk asked, she was sitting where Toriel would normally sit, in the queen’s throne, while Toriel sat in Asgore’s seat.

“What I mean is that we have been getting reports that monsters are going missing or are dying of illnesses just like your father had… and we believe that the humans have something to do with it…” Toriel’s expression was grim, but she shed no tears… she had no more to shed.

“What do you mean?! The humans are the ones who did this! Who killed father!” Frisk stood in her fit of rage, pacing the floor in front of Toriel.

“My child, please calm down… I am sending representatives to meet with the human king to discuss this… if they really are our allies… then they will help us…” Toriel looked to the ground, not wanting to continue this conversation. Frisk nodded slowly and proceeded to exit the throne room. She was DETERMINED to uncover the truth, no matter the cost.

PART 2: A MONSTERS SINS

Frisk, running at full speed, dashed to the human’s kingdom. The stench of them making the whole forest reek. Frisk wanted revenge, wanted justice. So when she saw the peaks of the castle walls, she knew what she had to do. It didn’t take long for the guards to find and capture her, of course she allowed them to, but their surprising speed and strength made Frisk curious. She was to meet the prince, they called him the Prince of Files. Being a Princess of Time… she knew exactly what this human was capable of.

“What do we have here?” The prince barked, an expression of hatred across his face.

“The monster’s princess my lord.” One of the guards shoved Frisk forward, making her stumble until she regained balance.

“What do you want traitor? SPEAK!” the Prince’s voice echoed off the stone walls. Frisk cleared her throat.

“I know what you did to my father! And I won’t leave without proper justice!” the prince and princess met eye to eye. Frisk had promised Sans that she wouldn’t reset or go genocide… but this boy… she was having second thoughts about genocide.

“I killed King Asgore, yes. And I plan to kill every monster who crept out of the hole they should have stayed in!” The prince cackled, slowly and steadily each human around them turned to dust and disappeared. Frisk was in shock, unsure of what was going on. But then…

“Well princess! Do you like my little toys!” each of her friends, family appeared before her. Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys, Mettaton, Toriel… and Asgore.

“LET THEM GO!” Frisk shouted, she wanted to run to them, wanted to save them… but she couldn’t move.

“Don’t bother princess. I have you all right where I want you!” The PrInCe started howling in laughter, glitching slightly. Each of the monsters before her looked up with dead eyes. At that moment… Sans’s neck started bleeding from a wound that suddenly appeared, cuts along his arms becoming clear. Papyrus grew unnaturally thin and sickly. Toriel had rope burns along her neck. Asgore had the look of one who was betrayed, his eyes growing red and fur turning a greying decay color. Undyne had blood shot eyes and was clearly under the influence. Alphys collapsed to her knees, begging only to have what everyone else had… what she once had. And Mettaton… his body was beaten and abused, tears running down his artificial face.

“What… what’s happening to them?!” Frisk broke down, weeping.

“They are merely turning into what they once were.” The royals looked at each other then CHARA pointed at each of the monsters.

“Sans has depression and finally killed himself. Papyrus has an eating condition that makes him sick and unnaturally skinny, it finally killed him. Toriel killed herself when all she wanted in life was ripped away, her greed killed her. Asgore had been to wrathful, not seeing what good could come from friendship, and in turn was betrayed by someone he loved. Undyne’s pride was her undoing, she had spent so much time improving her image that she was subjected to peer pressure and ended up drinking too much. Alphys wanted to find love like everyone around her but when she had finally gotten it she was too late and lost it once again. Finally, Mettaton, the lustful sinner was raped and beaten until he died a tragic fate, thinking of his lover the entire time.” Frisk started crying into her hands, seeing their deaths on repeat.

“P…please…stop…” Frisk begged. They laughed and mocked her, telling her to kill herself. Each of her friends, family, mocking her and attacking her physically. The fabrics of her mind shattering and breaking into millions of pieces. CHARA only laughed at her torment.

“STOP! PLEASE!!” Frisk begged.

“Alright. I will stop. If you do something for me.” CHARA sat back, smiling.

“ANYTHING! I WILL DO ANYTHING!” Frisk wailed. CHARA stood and whispered:

“Then let’s get started.”
